Our Mandate:
CQI exists to facilitate quality of life improvements in Sault Ste. Marie through:
- Annual production of the Community Performance Report, which monitors and analyses a variety of quality of life indicators in the community, and establishes benchmarks for success.
- Where the report indicates a low quality of life (based on the benchmarks), CQI engages those agencies involved in that aspect of the community to work on improvements
- Where the report indicates a high quality of life (based on the benchmarks), CQI publicizes these successes throughout the community at large
- Delivery of professional development programs focused on improving quality of life for employees, volunteers and/or the community at large.
This is accomplished utilizing the following resources:

- Standing and ad hoc committees
- Professional staff
- Membership (known as the Quality Circle)
- Active engagement with community agencies whose mandates reflect quality of life improvement – City, APH, Sault Area Hospitals United Way/SDC, ADSB, HSCDSB just to name a few.
