Below is just a sampling of some of the great successes that our members have achieved.
Invest in Hope- The United Way fundraiser to help member agancies raised $1,140,000 in its 2007 campaign, $58,000 more than in 2006. Congratulations to Invest in Hope campaign directors and canvassers!
SSM Innovation Centre - Industry Canada/FedNor has awarded the SSM Innovation Centre with the Community Capacity Building Award of 2007. This award recognizes organizations that demonstrate an exceptional ability to compete globally through innovation, telecommunications or trade. Congratulations to the team at the SSM Innovation Center!
Jody Rebek-DiCerbo - Jody is the recipient of the ATHENA Award. This award is presented to an individual that demonstrates professional excellence, for providing valuable service to her community and for actively assisting women in attainment of their professional goals and leadership skills. Jody is a former Executive Director of CQI.
General Mobile Radio - Congratulations to General Mobile Radio on their 25th anniversary in Sault Ste Marie. GMR was the 2007 winner of the Mayor's Award which recognizes for-profit business wiith outstanding committment to the not-for-profit community.
Group Health Center - Congratulations to the Group Health Center for winning the SMARt IT awards IT Project of the Year. The EMRxtra project, through the GHC's Health Promotion Initiatives program, is the first of its kind in Canada. The project is a patient-centered, chronic disease information program. Through the use of information technology, there is an enhanced sharing of clinical information between physicians, community pharmacists and patients.
Stone's Office Supply - Congratulations to Stone's Office Supply on their 80th anniversary. Stone's continues to be a staple of Sault Ste. Marie's downtown and to local businesses.
CQI receives the First National Quality Institute's 2007 CANADA AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE: COMMUNITY BUILDING AWARD. Click here for more details.
CQI receives the 2007 Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition Healthy Community award at the OHCC Annual General Meeting.
Rose Caicco - Retired Dean and Professor from Sault College donated to their awards and bursary program. This donation received 3:1 matched funds from the Ontario Student Trust Fund. (May 11/07).
Denis Turcotte, CEO Algoma Steel - Denis was named the Top CEO in the Canadian Business October 2006 magazine! Congratulations.
